National dairy cooperative Agropur has opened a new distribution centre in Delta.

"Agropur has been operating in Delta for several years...," said Mike Dick, vice-president of Western Canada, Agropur, Division Natrel. "The new distribution centre is part of Agropur's growing commitment in British Columbia."

The new 26,000 square foot centre, which includes 20,000 square feet of cooler and freezer space, will mean 65 new jobs in Delta.

"Delta is a perfect location for us," Dick said. "The proximity to the Island Farms' production facility on Vancouver Island, and the city's central location in the Lower Mainland made Delta an obvious location to build our distribution centre."

Agropur has annual sales of $3.4 billion, more than 1,000 products and 5,500plus employees.
