Abbotsford police investigating fatal hit and run

Abbotsford police are investigating after a man's body was discovered shortly before 6 a.m. on Saturday. 

Emergency services responded after the unidentified deceased male was found in the 38000 block of North Parallel Road. The Abbotsford Police Department is treating the incident as a fatal hit and run of a pedestrian.

Abbotsford patrol officers, major crime detectives and collision reconstructionists are currently on scene and are in the early stages of their investigation. 

Motorists are advised that traffic is being asked to avoid the area, and are advised that traffic in the area will be impacted Saturday. North Parallel Road between McDermott and No. 4 Road and Highway 1 westbound, west of No. 3 Road, were closed down to one lane Saturday morning.
