The smile on his face says it all.

Thursday morning was a special day at Augustine House Society in Ladner as Bob Cristofoli was able to visit his dad Reno in his suite.

Cristofoli was the very first visitor at Augustine House doors after all these months of just visiting for 30 minutes with the Plexiglas between them. Reno is a resident in Haven House, the long-term care section of Augustine House.

On visiting his Dad this morning in the suite, Cristofoli shared that he was elated he was finally able to give his dad a big hug.

He said he felt so happy and thanks all the staff at Augustine House for their hard work over the past year.

“Being able to witness Reno’s smile as he held his son’s hand was an honor,” said Augustine House executive director Jackie Reiners. “Augustine House is excited about the changes to visits and outings, excited to facilitate families and residents reconnecting. This does, of course, increase risks to our community, but we are committed to working together with residents, families, and Fraser Health to reduce these risks through strong infection control practices.”
