BCCDC's latest COVID-19 numbers for the City of Delta

The BCCDC notes case rates are declining or stable in all health areas, and provincially cases are at the lowest since last October.

The province notes that over 72 per cent of those 12 and over have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, while the rate was even higher for those over 50.

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in the City of Delta has once again seen a sharp drop.

According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control’s latest community map of cases, covering the period May 30 to June 5, Delta overall had 51 confirmed cases.

That’s down from 71 confirmed cases the week prior.

Meanwhile, the latest map had Surrey had 263, Langley had 37, Abbotsford had 115, Richmond had 41, Burnaby had 98, and Vancouver had 194 cases.

According to the BCCDC, the average daily case rate per 100,000 population, from June 1 to 7, indicates both Ladner and Tsawwassen had one case daily each and North Delta was at 10.

The BCCDC also released its monthly map showing cumulative COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.

According to that map, covering the period January 2020 until the end of May 2021, Delta had 4,815 cases, while Richmond had 4,016, Surrey had 37,158 and Vancouver had 22,253 cases.
