Burnaby's Gary Stanton-Linder said he’s had a few sleepless nights, but added that it’s “definitely worth it” after he found out he won $100,000 from a Jackpot Scratch & Win ticket.

Winning a lot of money suddenly doesn’t always help you sleep at night.

Take Gary Stanton-Linder, who said he’s had a few sleepless nights, but added that it’s “definitely worth it” after he found out he won $100,000 from a Jackpot Scratch & Win ticket.

The Burnaby resident purchased the ticket from Chevron on Canada Way, and was at home when he realized he won big.

“My first thought was: Wow!” he recalled.

Once reality set in, he went to a nearby store to validate the ticket at a self-checker.

Stanton-Linder couldn’t wait to share his news with his son and daughter-in-law, and then with his boss, who was equally as excited and in disbelief that he still showed up for work on Monday morning.

Stanton-Linder describes his winning feeling as “absolutely fantastic” and plans to use some of his prize to go to a rock concert with his son, once it’s safe to do so.
