The Envision Financial Beach Grove Amateur proved to be another exciting event as Capilano's Matt Cavelti rallied for a comfortable five shot victory to take low gross honours.

Cavelti trailed by a single stroke to first round leaders John Gallacher, Mike Wawryk after opening with a 72. He then closed with an impressive 70 to finish ahead of perennial local favourite Robin Reimer (74-73).

Dennis Reimann of Beach Grove fired sizzling rounds of 68 and 67 to take the overall low net honours.

This was the sixth year of partnership between Envision Financial and the Beach Grove Amateur which sees the annual tournament donate to a local beneficiary. This time, $9,000 was raised for the Boys and Girls Club of South Coast B.C.

"Envision Financial has been a tremendous partner over the past six years, and without their support the tournament would not be able to support this very worthy cause in our community," says Brent Derrheim, Beach Grove's Head Golf Professional.

Over the past 6 years the Amateur tournament has donated over $60,000.

Many volunteers from the Boys and Girls Club were involved with this year's event and their support was greatly appreciated by the tournament players and organizers.

"The Boys and Girls Club of South Coast BC is a tremendous organization and we were thrilled to be partnered with them and look forward to carrying on our relationship for years to come," added Derrheim.
