?A collectible sale will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Delta Hospital Auxiliary's Ladner Thrift Shop, 4816 Delta Street, Ladner. The main store is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. while the overflow space is open at 9 a.m. Look for jewelry, furniture, linens, artwork, lighting, musical instruments and tableware. All proceeds are donated to Delta Hospital for medical equipment and patient comforts. Call 604-946-1455 for information or to donate collectible items.

?Join the Delta Naturalists for our Holiday Celebration on Monday, Dec. 12 at 7: 30 p.m. at Cammidge House on Boundary Bay in Tsawwassen. Our guest speaker is Danny Kent. In the fall he dons his scuba gear, packs his trusty waterproof camera and dives for research and photos in the High Arctic. No cost but bring a few holiday goodies to share. ?Join Tom Bearss and his informal birdwatchers for a 2.5-hour amble through the beautiful regional park overlooking Boundary Bay. Enjoy the abundance of resident and migratory inhabitants, including shorebirds, waterfowl, raptors and smaller birds. The outing will end with beverage and snack at historic Cammidge House. ?Delta Hospital Auxiliary is looking for volunteers in many areas. We help provide care and comfort to those that need the services of our hospital. We urgently require a coordinator for the following areas: Ways and Means, office, café and last but not least, the gift shop. We also need a new vicepresident. SENIORS

?A Christmas Lunch will be held at Noon at KinVillage Community Centre, Friday, Dec. 2. Turkey pot pie, salad and an assortment of tarts or English trifle will be served and featured entertainment will be provided by the ElderCollege Singers and special guest vocalist Jeroen Vermeullen. ?A Gala Christmas Dinner and Dance will be held at KinVillage Community Centre Saturday, Dec. 3 with music provided by Sentimental Journey. FUND RAISERS

?A DSS dry grad bottle drive fundraiser is set for Dec. 3 during the late morning around Ladner.

?A DSS dry grad holiday concert is set for Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. at Genesis Theatre. Admission by donation. There will be dance, choir, guitar and band performances to get us in the holiday spirit.

SPECIAL EVENTS

?Join us for our fourth annual Courtyard Christmas in Tsawwassen on Dec. 3 from 3 to 5 p.m. under the glass roof by RONA at the Tsawwassen Shopping Centre. Featuring five community choirs who will be performing Christmas carols. Visit with Santa, free goody bags, free beverages and cookies, tree ornament decoration and learn about Operation Red Nose. ?The third annual Community Xmas dinner is set for December 3, from 5 p.m. onwards at the Ladner Christian Fellowship, 5545 Ladner Trunk Road. To reserve your spot, please call 604-946-1967 and leave your name with the number of people attending.

?On Dec. 4 from 1 to 3 p.m., Santa Comes to Cammidge House. He will bring treats for the small children, there will be refreshments for the family and the house will be decorated for the Christmas holidays. Come visit and photograph Santa with the children - enjoy the beginning of the festive season. Everyone welcome. Cammidge House is in Boundary Bay Regional Park on the way to Centennial Beach.

ARTS

?A Deltassist Christmas toy drive concert will be held December 3 at 6: 30 p.m. at the Tsawwassen Legion. Musical guests playing the benefit will be the Jerry Doucette Band, The Simpson Brothers, Delta 88 and Lucidity. There is no cover charge but a toy donation is strongly encouraged.

?Local nature photographer and singer/songwriter Rosemarie Hurst, and acrylic artist Jacqui Kenney present "Reflections" at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre at 12th & 56th St. until Dec. 13. Drop in and meet the artists and hear Rosemarie's new CD for an ambient afternoon "artist reception" on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 1 - 4 p.m. Art, art cards & CD's will be available.

?South Delta Artists Guild new show: "Big and Small." Just in time for gift giving, the treasure of a local artists fine art work. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Fri/Sat/Sun. While you are there check out the workshop board for on going art courses, for beginners and experienced alike. Give a gift to yourself in the New Year in the form of an art course! The guild also has life drawing every Monday morning from 9: 30 a.m. to noon. Live model in attendance.

?Join the Delta Community Choir and Tapestry, under the musical direction of Danielle Hamilton for a performance filled with Christmas wonder, choral favorites and holiday cheer at Cedar Park Church, 5300-44th Ave., Ladner, on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. or Sunday, Dec. 4 at 3: 30 p.m. It costs $15 for adults, $10 for seniors/students and $5 for kids under 12.
