Please join the Delta Nats on Monday evening, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Cammidge House on Boundary Bay in Tsawwassen. Our presentation will be entitled "The Mysterious Marbled Murrelets". The talk by Paul Jones will be illustrated by slides of photos and drawings which followed the campaign to save an old growth forest on the Caren Range of the Sunshine Coast. Canada's first active marbled murrelet nest was found there in 1993. As a result in 1996 the Caren forests were preserved as the new Spipiyus Provincial Park.

The next regular meeting of the South Delta Low Vision Support Group will be held at the Ladner Pioneer Library on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 1:30 p.m. This will be the group's AGM. Members will give highlights from recent summer trips. All members, family, guests and persons interested in support of low vision information are welcome.

The Oscar nominated documentary "Gasland" will be shown Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Ladner Pioneer Library. This acclaimed documentary explores and exposes the environmental damage and threats to human health from high process drilling to extract natural gas from rock. The Canadian Cancer Society Volunteer Driver program in Ladner/Tsawwassen is in need of more volunteer drivers to take patients to and from their treatment. Training and dispatch are provided. The Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society runs a number of units within our hospital that provide services to patients and their families as well as staff. We are currently looking for volunteers skillful in office work, merchandizing for the Dogwood Gift Shop, and food services to coordinate the Courtyard Cafe. Volunteer Grandparents is a non-profit organization that does valuable work in the Lower Mainland, for families and the community. Special Olympics BC - Delta needs volunteer assistant coaches for our upcoming 2011-2012 season.
