It's about to get a whole lot easier and cheaper to make those quick trips into Point Roberts

Optimist readers can’t wait to get down to Point Roberts again.

That’s what our recent online community poll of Delta Optimist readers suggests as a mandatory negative COVID-19 test is no longer required for fully-vaccinated Canadians to return through the Canadian border on trips 72 hours or less, starting Tuesday (Nov. 30).

Of the 232 votes, 62 percent said they can’t wait to be supporting the Point Roberts business community again. Of that total, 58.77 percent of the vote featured readers from Ladner and Tsawwassen.

Just over 41 percent of the local readers says they will continue to only doing their shopping in B.C.

The poll ran from Nov. 19-23.

Results are based on an online study of adult Delta Optimist readers. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 6.4%, 19 times out of 20.

Delta Optimist uses a variety of techniques to capture data, detect and prevent fraudulent votes, detect and prevent robots, and filter out non-local and duplicate votes.
