Catalytic converter theft
Delta Police are asking the public to continue to be vigilant when it comes to catalytic converter thefts.

Catalytic converter thefts continue to be a growing concern for Delta Police.

In one recent incident, officers were called to the 11800 block of 80th Ave. around 6:30 p.m., April 29.

Police say the call was a report of an attempted theft of a catalytic converter on a Honda CRV. The catalytic converter had a clean cut on one side, however was still attached on the other.

“The province has changed the regulations for metal dealers and recyclers to require them to report each transaction, including seller information, to police, however these types of thefts are still occurring,” say police. “You can help avoid this type of theft from auto by parking in a well-lit area or your garage.”
