Dangerous' Dream Catcher

Hip-hop artist set to release latest work

Delta Secondary grad Daniel Joseph is holding a launch party for his latest hiphop album next week in Vancouver.

Titled The Dream Catcher, the album features artists like Moka Only, Planet Asia and Canibus, says Joseph.

Joseph, who goes by the stage name of Dangerous, says he's very proud of working with Canibus, someone he calls a legend in the hip-hop game.

"Back in the day when I was coming up I was always listening to his music. He inspired me and definitely influenced me greatly," says Joseph. "Never could I have thought that I'd end up, meeting him let alone doing a song with him let alone doing a show with him or a music video with him."

Joseph got to perform with Canibus in December in Vancouver and they have made a music video that's expected to air on MuchMusic's Rap City program this summer.

The Dream Catcher marks Joseph's third album. He says he's very happy with the way it turned out and described it as a very conscious album with no real explicit lyrics.

"As an artist we always try to step up our vocabulary and our lyrics, in terms of being a lyricist or a verbalist, I'm very proud of how it turned out in terms of the song writing."

The record ties in with a book he recently published called Me, My Dreams, and I.

The album launch event is set for Thursday, July 21 at Joe's Apartment in Vancouver. It will be available on iTunes and on bandcamp.com.
