Delta COVID-19 numbers are dropping

Three South Delta schools and nine in North Delta are on the health region’s COVID-19 exposure list.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 in the City of Delta has gone done for a second straight week.

According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control's weekly COVID-19 community map released Thursday, which covered the period April 28 to 24, Delta had 192 people infected.

Meanwhile, Surrey was at 1,760 cases, Richmond at 216, Langley at 303, Abbotsford at 489, Vancouver at 879 and Burnaby at 519 cases.

The numbers in all those communities are down from the previous week as well.

Meanwhile, 12 Delta schools are on Fraser Health’s latest list of schools that have had recent COVID-19 exposures.

The list, updated Thursday on the health region’s website, includes Delta Secondary (April 23), South Delta Secondary (April 19, 20), South Park Elementary (April 19, 20), Sunshine Hills Elementary (April 16, 19), Seaquam Secondary (April 19, 20), Sands Secondary (April 19, 20, 23), Richardson Elementary (April 15, 16, 19, 20), Heath Traditional Elementary (April 16), Gray Elementary (April 15, 16), Delview Secondary (April 15, 16, 19, 20), Cougar Canyon Elementary (April 21, 22) and Chalmers Elementary (April 15, 16).
