Delta man is facing pair of attempted murder charges

Two men stabbed during altercation in Fort St. John

A Delta man is facing attempted murder charges after a stabbing in northern B.C.

Amil Puno, 25, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder in connection with a stabbing Saturday in Fort St. John.

At about 2: 35 a.m., a man who said he had been stabbed approached Fort St. John RCMP officers. He told the officers that his friend was also suffering stab wounds and lying on the ground near the Looney Tunes Bar.

Both men were airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital with serious inju-ries.

Puno was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder. He made his first court appearance on Monday.

Police said there does not appear to be any connection between the accused and the two victims, and alcohol is believed to be a significant factor in the incident.
