The recent wet weather and anticipated heavy rain expected Friday and over the weekend, has prompted a change in the fire danger rating for the City of Delta.
On Thursday, Delta moved the rating from moderate to low.
The public is still reminding about the following:
• Call 9-1-1 to report any fires.
• All residential backyard fires, campfires and open cooking fires (except in approved briquette and propane barbecues) remain banned year-round in all areas of Delta.
• Use caution when smoking. Cigarettes and matches should be extinguished before disposal and placed in a metal or glass receptacle.
• Smoking is prohibited all Delta parks and open spaces.
