Vancouver Police are conducting the investigation into a Thursday night collision in North Delta involving a Delta Police cruiser.

DPD S/Sgt. James Sandberg told the Optimist that at approximately 7:30 p.m. on May 19 there was a motor vehicle accident involving two cars in the 7300 block of 116th Street.  “One of the vehicles was a Delta Police car responding to a call for service,” said Sandberg. “A pedestrian was also involved in the aftermath of the initial collision. All of the people involved reported minor injuries, but were taken to hospital for precautionary assessments.

“Since this collision involved a DPD officer, the Vancouver Police Department Collision Investigation Unit was requested to conduct the collision investigation.”

He said the road remained closed for a period of time while the scene was processed, but has since be re-opened.
