On Monday, July 4 at approximately 9:45 p.m. the Delta police responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance that had occurred earlier in the day.
On July 4 at approximately 12:45 p.m., a 14-year-old girl was walking east on 84th Ave (on the south side of the road) approaching 114th St. She took note of a van stopped roadside (also facing east on the south side of the road). After the teen past the van, the driver moved the van forward a short distance and stopped. This occurred twice before the driver exited the vehicle and started running in the direction of the teen. The teen yelled at the male and made a kicking motion toward him. The male turned back and got into the vehicle leaving westbound on 84th Ave from the 11400 block.
The teen was upset but not physically harmed and had a family friend pick her up and made the report to police later that evening.
Suspect description: Caucasian male, 6ft, 35-45 yrs old, thin to medium build with light brown short hair, wearing a plain dark grey t-shirt and black work type pants with white paint stains on them
Vehicle description: metallic silver work type van with a ladder on the roof, tinted rear windows with (unknown) yellow lettering on it and possibly a graphic of a blue ant.
Delta police have canvassed the residents in area and inquired at surrounding businesses to gather any information that may further in the investigation and possibly assist in locating the suspicious vehicle and person.

- Carry a cell phone with you if possible
Delta police encourage citizens to report any suspicious persons/vehicles or activities as soon as possible.
