Delta police are investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle Tuesday morning.
At approximately 6:10 a.m. police responded to the accident. Initial investigation indicates that a motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Nordel Way from River Road. Police say the motorcyclist entered the intersection at Nordel Court and is believed to have entered on a yellow or fresh red light.
The motorcyclist made a sudden maneuver, losing control of his bike and subsequently striking a pole.
The 42-year-old man from Surrey died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
Police have notified the deceased's family.
Police remain at the scene as officers continue with the investigation.
