Delta Police are looking to speak with a driver involved in a hit-and-run in Ladner last week.

Delta Police are urging a driver to come forward after a hit-and-run incident involving a youth in Ladner last week.

According to DPD, on July 29, between 1:30 and 2 p.m., a Delta youth was travelling on a longboard eastbound on 45th Ave. at Garry St. in Ladner when an SUV or minivan apparently turned left in front of them. The driver hit the youth, and drove over the front of their longboard.

“Fortunately the youth was not injured in this incident, but their longboard was broken,” said DPD spokesperson Cris Leykauf in an emailed response to the Optimist. “Police were informed that the driver did not stop or render assistance.”

Leykauf said police were contacted about the incident on July 30.

“We are encouraging the driver to come forward, as it’s important for police to hear from all parties during any incident such as this,” she added.

If any members of the public have any further information about the incident, or believe they may have dashcam footage which could assist police, please call 604-946-4411 and quote file number: 21-17618.
