Delta police are this week reminding the public to report suspicious persons as soon as possible after a woman encountered to men acting strangely at Centennial Beach earlier this month.

On Aug. 11 at about 10:30 a.m. a woman reported two separate incidents of indecent acts by two separate men while she was at Centennial Beach on Aug. 8.

The woman was lying on the grass between the parking lot and the water just north of the concession stand between 5 and 6:15 p.m. She noticed a naked man had come along and laid down in close proximity to her. Once noticed, the man got up and left the area.

He is described as a Caucasian man in his 40s, 5'9" tall with a stocky build, short dark hair and wearing glasses.

A short time later, the same woman observed a different man who was sitting in a nearby log and appeared to be masturbating. The woman yelled at the man and he subsequently left the area.

He is described as a Caucasian man in his 60s wearing a T-shirt and blue baseball cap.

Neither man attempted to make direct contact or converse with the woman.

Police received no other similar reports.

"Police do remind citizens to report suspicious and/or criminal activity as soon as possible in order to increase the potential of locating and identifying suspects," said Delta police spokesperson Sgt. Sharlene Brooks.
