The City of Delta has raised the fire danger rating in the city to high.

The City of Delta has raised the fire danger rating in the city to high.

In a news release on the cities website, they are asking residents to please take extra care to prevent fires.

Public reminders are as follows:

  • Call 9-1-1 to report any fires
  • All residential backyard fires, campfires and open cooking fires (except in approved briquette and propane barbecues) remain banned year-round in all areas of Delta
  • Use caution when smoking. Cigarettes and matches should be extinguished before disposal and placed in a metal or glass receptacle
  • Smoking is prohibited at all Delta parks and open spaces.
