MLA Vicki Huntington is encouraging residents of Delta South to consider nominating someone for a B.C. Community Achievement Award.

Now in its eighth year, the awards program honours people who have made a significant contribution to their community through a unique achievement or outstanding service - either as a volunteer or in the course of their work.

It can be in any area that provides a benefit to the community, such as sports and recreation, arts and culture, environment, multiculturalism, health care, education, civic duty, business innovation, community volunteerism, and youth or seniors' leadership.

Huntington said Delta South is a community full of many inspirational figures, people who have lived lives of high achievement and success, who take pride in the community. She said now is a time to honour each other and showcase the great talent of leadership and selflessness present in Delta South.

Nomination forms are available in Huntington's Delta South constituency office in Ladner or can be downloaded from http://www.bcachievement.com/community/info.php. Nominations close Nov. 15.
