Let’s go back to the March 1976 pages of the Delta Optimist to check out Ladner’s Shop-Easy store.
At the time, it had been three years since Walt Hayward, Walter Gordon and Darryl Boyd bought the store.
The store had been in existence for 23 years. Hayward had been there for 12 years, Boyd for five years and Gordon for six years.
After buying the store, the new owners remodelled the outside of the building and reportedly had taken “a very active interest” in the community.
The three owners extended an invitation to Delta residents to come in and enjoy a free piece of birthday cake.
