Let’s head back to the 1964 pages of the Optimist to see what was popular when it came to the latest in women’s fashion.
The above photo shows Mrs. Howard Mitchell modelling a stylish street dress at a fashion show and coffee party sponsored by the Beach Grove Ladies Golf Club, held on May 8 that year.
The fashion show was held at the home of Mrs. Andrew Wallace. Taking place on the patio of her home, the event reportedly drew a good crowd.
Twenty door prizes were also handed out.
