Here’s a shot of North Delta Family Day in the mid-1970s.

Let’s head back to the summer of 1974 to check out some of the fun at North Delta Family Day.

Pictured is magician Rudy Hayden showing some of his talents during the event, which took place July 1 at Annieville Park.

He was one of many entertainers who took part in the North Delta Family Day celebrations.

It was reported at the time that hundreds attended the event which proved highly successful.

Fast forward to 2022, and the event, which had been put on hold over the past couple of years due to the pandemic, returns to North Delta Community Park hosted by the North Delta Lions Club on June 19.

During a recent Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee meeting, it was noted that the service club does not have sufficient volunteers to plan and execute a parade.

It was agreed the city will assist the club with organizing this year's parade. Council had already directed the city to help the club.

The commission also discussed the lack of volunteers community service clubs are currently experiencing.
