Delta throwback: Living at 47A Avenue (PHOTOS)

A then-and-now look at a transformed Ladner Village street

Let’s head back in time to check out Stanley Street in Ladner in the 1930s.

It’s now called 47A Avenue.

Looking east, the black and white photo shows the Blaxland house, which was previously the Len Froud home, as well as the Gifford house and Umiker family home.

Walt Umiker owned the nearby Ferry Service Garage and gas station, located at the corner of Laidlaw and Westham Street which is now 48th Avenue.

The cross street between the two last houses in the photo is Garry Street.

The colour photo shows what the section of street looks like today.
