Delta throwback: The Ladner Hotel

A long forgotten business from yesteryear
Ladner Hotel, 1900
The Ladner Hotel in Ladner Village. The business district at the time included a town hall, blacksmiths and general stores.

Let's take another step back in time to 1900.

This Delta Archives photo shows the Ladner Hotel on Westham Street, now called 48th Avenue.

It was owned by Horace Slater at the time.

Hugh Slater is identified as the small boy standing in snow.

In the early 1920s, the hotel was destroyed by fire.

The Delta Hotel on nearby Chisholm Street was also destroyed by fire in the 1920s.
