Former Tsawwassen resident stabbed in the Philippines

A former Tsawwassen resident who was crowed Miss Earth 2008 was stabbed in the Philippines Thursday. Karla Paula Henry, 25, was reportedly stabbed by a drunken man at a condominium complex in Manila where she was staying.

Karla Paula Henry, 25, was reportedly stabbed by a drunken man at a condominium complex in Manila where she was staying.

According to the Philippine Inquirer, the man, who used a broken beer bottle to allegedly stab her in the back, was arrested.

Henry, who between the ages of four to 14 resided in Tsawwassen before moving back to the Philippines, was rushed to hospital, but her condition hasn't been disclosed.

A resident of Cebu, Henry was a 22-year-old contestant representing the Philippines when she was crowned Miss Earth 2008 at pageant at the Expo amphitheatre in Angeles, Pampanga, north of Manila.

Eighty-five contestants from around world competed in the annual beauty competition to promote environmental awareness, while helping each contestant promote their respective environmental advocacies in their countries.
