Marshals are needed for the Ladner May Days parade that returns on May 29.

Can you spare a couple of hours for Ladner’s biggest party in three years?

The 126th edition of Ladner May Days is now just a week away and organizers can still use a little help for the three-day fair, that runs May 27 to 29, following a two-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

What makes this fair unique is not only its rich history, but the fact it is community-run and relies on the helping hands of many local volunteers and businesses.

While many volunteers have already come forward, more are needed for a variety of roles.

“Specifically right now, we still are looking for parade marshals,” said May Days chair Jennifer Scott. “We need people to man the barricades and also helping with setting-up (Memorial) Park and taking it down.

“We’re fortunate the (Ladner) Legion have some of their volunteers coming, but we always can use extra hands for other things. Like people with horse experience helping with the pony rides. Really, it’s anything people are willing to do.”
