Here's the latest COVID-19 numbers for Delta

The criteria for moving to Step 3 of the Province’s Restart Plan, on or after July 1, is at least 70 per cent of the 18 and over population vaccinated with a first dose, along with low case counts and declining COVID-19 hospitalizations.

The COVID-19 case numbers continue to be encouraging in Delta.

According to the BC Centre for Disease Control’s latest community map of confirmed COVID-19 cases, covering the period June 13 to 19, Delta had just 21 cases.

Meanwhile, Surrey had 71 cases, Richmond had 17, Langley had 21, Burnaby had 34, Abbotsford had 50, Tri-Cities had 28 and Vancouver had 80 cases.

Data covering the period June 15 to 21 indicates North Delta had a total of 13 cases, Tsawwassen had three cases while Ladner had none.

It’s the second straight week no new cases were recorded for Ladner.

Case rates are declining in all health authorities and cases provincially are back to September 2020 levels.

Delta’s total vaccination rate was at 83 per cent for residents 12 and older as of June 21, the sixth highest rate among B.C. communities.

Breaking the Delta numbers further, the first dose vaccination rate for those 12 and older in North Delta was 81 per cent, while it was 86 per cent for Ladner and 85 per cent for Tsawwassen.

The vaccination rate for those 18 and older in North Delta was 83 per cent, while it was 87 per cent for Ladner and Tsawwassen was 86 per cent.

According to the BCCDC, 77.2 per cent of all adults in B.C. and 75.8 per cent of those 12 and older have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

In addition, 24.3 per cent of all adults in the province and 22.7 per cent of those 12 and older have received their second dose.

Meanwhile, according to Fraser Health, three Delta schools had recent COVID-19 exposures. 

Those schools were Gray Elementary (June 10), Hellings Elementary (June 10, 11, 14, 15, 16) and South Park Elementary (June 11).
