Here's the latest COVID-19 numbers for the City of Delta, schools

The province notes many vaccine locations are offering extended hours and mobile clinics to make it as easy as possible to get a shot

The numbers just keep going down in Delta.

According to the BC Centre for Disease Control’s latest community map of confirmed COVID-19 cases, covering the period June 6 to 12, Delta had just 24 cases.

Meanwhile, Surrey had 172 cases, Richmond had 28, Langley had 32, Burnaby had 63 and Vancouver had 103 cases.

Data covering the period June 8 to 14 indicates North Delta had a total of 14 cases, Tsawwassen had nine while Ladner had none.

Tsawwassen saw a slight increase from the previous week, while Ladner and North Delta small saw decreases.

Delta’s total vaccination rate was at 81 per cent for residents 12 and older as of June 14, which is the fifth highest rate for B.C. communities.

For B.C, 76.3 per cent of all adults and 74.6 per cent of those 12 and older have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Breaking the Delta numbers further, the first dose vaccination rate for those 12 and older in North Delta was 79 per cent, while it was 83 per cent for both Ladner and Tsawwassen.

The vaccination rate for those 18 and older in North Delta was 81 per cent, while it was 85 per cent for Ladner and Tsawwassen was 84 per cent.

Meanwhile, the number of Delta schools that had recent COVID-19 exposure events also dropped sharply over the past couple of weeks.

According to Fraser Health’s latest list of schools having exposures, updated on the health region’s website Thursday, the only Delta schools on the list are Gray Elementary (June 9, 10) and South Park Elementary (June 7, 8, 9, 11).
