Highway 97 closed south of Prince George after single vehicle crash

Downed power line also creating safety hazzard

Highway 97 south of Prince George is closed after a single-vehicle accident this afternoon (Dec. 30). 

Prince George RCMP spokesperson Cst. Jennifer Cooper says police received a report of a collision involving a single vehicle on Highway 97 near Kolling Road, south of the city just after noon today. 

Cooper says Mounties and emergency services are currently on scene, and the highway is currently closed.

She says motorists can expect it to remain closed for several hours.

There is also a report of a downed hydro power line, which is also creating a safety hazard. 

Cooper says the investigation is in its early stages and more information will be released as information becomes available.
