Delta-based JJM Construction was recently awarded this year's Deputy Minister's Contractor of the Year Award in the grading category for the company's work on the Alexander Road to 96th Street portion of the South Fraser Perimeter Road.

The company was recognized for successfully completing the $8.9 million project in a highly environmentally sensitive area - Burns Bog and the Fraser River - with minimal impact on the public and traffic.

"This award highlights the outstanding work JJM Construction has done on the Alexander Road to 96th Street portion of the South Fraser Perimeter Road project," said Blair Lekstrom, minister of transportation and infrastructure. "They took an innovative approach to protect local ecosystems and improve motorist safety through this busy area."

The Deputy Minister's Contractor of the Year Awards recognize construction and maintenance companies that demonstrate excellence in the categories of grading, paving, bridges and structures, and highway maintenance work across the province.
