Kiwanis donates movie night proceeds to Reach campaign

Reach Child and Youth Development Society received $1,661.05 from the Kiwanis Club of Tsawwassen/Ladner toward its efforts to build a child development centre in Ladner.

Reach Child and Youth Development Society received $1,661.05 from the Kiwanis Club of Tsawwassen/Ladner toward its efforts to build a child development centre in Ladner.

Kiwanis raised the money through concession stand sales at the Tsawwassen outdoor movie nights this summer.

"Kiwanis's first priority is children," said Kiwanis director Sandra Gebhardt, "and our motto is, 'We build,' so it is only natural that we support an organization like Reach that provides programs and services to children and families, ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their potential."

"The Kiwanis Club does a tremendous amount of great work in the community," said D'Aquila, "and we want thank them and all of their volunteers for their hard work at the movie nights and for supporting our project."

The Kiwanis Club, along with the Tsawwassen Business Improvement Association (TBIA) and other community service clubs, organized the outdoor movie nights and chose Reach as the beneficiary of all concession sales.

This year Reach launched a $4 million campaign to build a new child development centre in the heart of Ladner.
