Lexus on auction block at annual hospital gala

Anonymous donation appraised at over $38,000

The Delta Hospital Foundation's 13th annual Moonlight Gala is set for tomorrow evening.

The 1920s inspired event, catered by the Coast Tsawwassen Inn, will feature an elegant night of cocktails, dinner, dancing, auctions and more in support of Delta Hospital.

This year's live auction will feature a 2009 Lexus. Appraised at over $38,000, the Lexus RX350 was donated anonymously to the foundation with bidding beginning at $30,000 at the annual fundraising event.

With only 39,000 miles, the silver Lexus comes fully loaded and boasts a beige leather interior, navigational system, back-up camera and remote control keyless entry.

"The generosity of this gift astounds me," said Teresa Cooper, executive director of the Delta Hospital Foundation. "We are extremely excited about the possibilities that this donation can bring to the hospital and our Cancer Care Fund.

"With new and up-todate equipment developed continuously, this gift has the possibility to really make a difference in the lives of this community. It could help purchase the best detection and treatment tools for our medical staff ."

The car is just one of many exciting live auction items available at the Moonlight Gala. Other items include a trip to New York, a dream vacation anywhere Westjet flies, a sneak preview round of golf for 12 at Tsawwassen Springs, a wine chiller and various tickets to sporting events throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Information on the Lexus is available at the Delta Hospital Foundation office at 5800 Mountain View Blvd., at 604-940-9695 or [email protected].

Limited space is available for the event. More information on tickets, the live auction or any other activities at the gala, contact Jackey Zellweger, at 604-940-9695 ext. 106 or gala@ deltahospital.com.
