More than 9,000 new COVID cases reported over weekend in B.C.; 1,117 in Island Health

B.C. recorded more than 9,000 cases of COVID-19 over a three-day period ending Monday.

Of the 9,332 new cases, 1,117 were in the Island Health region.

More than half the new cases in B.C., 4,859 , were in Fraser Health, followed by 1,797 in Vancouver Coastal Health and 1,185 in Interior Health.

On Friday, the province reported 20,811 active cases in the province, including 2,336 in Island Health.

The Ministry of Health is scheduled to return to regular reporting of COVID-19 cases, vaccinations, hospitalizations and deaths on Tuesday.
