There have been a few changes around the Delta Optimist office this week.

Publisher Tom Siba, who returned to the paper in 2012 after an 11-year absence, is moving on to head the Optimist's sister publication, the Richmond News.

Siba's connection to the Optimist will remain, however, as the Tsawwassen resident will continue to write a Community Comment column.

Long-time sales manager Dave Hamilton has been appointed general manager of the Delta Optimist and the South Delta Leader, which was acquired by the Optimist's parent company, Glacier Media, last fall.

"I thank Tom, and the previous publishers I have worked with, for their guidance over the years and look forward to the opportunity to work with the great people that have helped make these Glacier products successful over the years," Hamilton said.

Lower Mainland Publishing president Alvin Brouwer becomes publisher of both local papers.
