Delta police were on high alert Monday after an elderly patient was reported missing from Delta Hospital.
Bill McKinley, 81, was last seen at about 2 p.m. by nursing staff. Police were called in at 5 p.m. after staff members were unable to locate McKinley, who suffers from Alzheimer's, on the ward.
At around 7 p.m., police issued a news release asking for the public's help in locating McKinley, saying that he is social and engaging but due to the Alzheimer's he would be unlikely to know the area in which he lives or his actual address.
He was found safe and in good health at 9: 45 p.m. in the area of 41st Avenue and Victoria Drive in Vancouver. He was returned to the hospital.
