Pedestrians hit along Trunk Road

It was a tough morning for pedestrians yesterday as Delta police responded to two separate collisions at the same time along Ladner Trunk Road. Officers got a call about a young girl being hit at 55B Street and Ladner Trunk Road at 8: 32 a.m.

It was a tough morning for pedestrians yesterday as Delta police responded to two separate collisions at the same time along Ladner Trunk Road.

Officers got a call about a young girl being hit at 55B Street and Ladner Trunk Road at 8: 32 a.m. The 12-year-old was hit as she stepped off the curb to cross the street.

Police spokesperson A/Sgt. Paul Eisenzimmer said the incident is still under investigation.

She received a blow to the head as she fell to the ground. She was conscious and talking after the accident, but was taken to B.C. Children's Hospital for treatment.

One minute later, at 8: 33 a.m., officers were called to the intersection at Ladner Trunk Road and Elliott Street where an adult female was hit by a car. She was taken to hospital with a possible concussion.

Eisenzimmer said that incident is also still under investigation.
