A construction worker was killed Wednesday morning while working on the South Fraser Perimeter Road.
Delta police spokesperson Const. Ciaran Feenan said emer-gency services were called to the 10300-block of River Road just before 11 a.m. after a 48-year-old man was struck and killed by a dump truck on the construction site.
Donna Freeman, spokesperson for WorkSafe B.C., said the man, who was working as a spotter or traffic control person with FTG Constructors, died after the dump truck backed over him.
Freeman said WorkSafe B.C. was called in around noon and officers were at the site investigating throughout the afternoon, along with the B.C. Coroners Service.
