Delta police are looking for a suspect after a suspicious occurrence in North Delta.

On Sunday, July 24, a 13-year-old boy was shopping with his family in store in the 7200-block of 120th Street.

The teen was using the store's washroom when an unknown man entered and appeared to be starting at the boy through the stall divide.

The man then entered the next stall and attempted to make physical contact by putting his foot under the stall.

The teen yelled out and called for help; and then heard the man leave the washroom.

The boy left the washroom and continued shopping with his family, reporting the incident later to the store staff before leaving the store.

Store staff called police.

The suspect is described as an older, overweight Caucasian male, about 50 to 60 years old, balding with salt and pepper hair. He was wearing a green shirt and green and white shorts, black shoes and gold-rimmed glasses.

"The Delta police have not had similar incidents reported to them but are taking this opportunity to encourage citizens to be ever vigilant and report suspicious circumstances and persons as soon as possible in order to increase the potential of locating and identifying suspects," said Delta police spokesperson Sgt. Sharlene Brooks.

The incident is still under investigation.
