Delta Police are on the scene of a shooting in North Delta.

According to a news release, shortly after 11:10 p.m. Thursday night, officers responded to a shooting in the 11700 block of 92A Avenue in North Delta.

Officers located one male with significant injuries as a result of a shooting. He has been transported to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators have advised that this event was a targeted shooting and appears to be related to the Lower Mainland Gang Conflict and the injured person was the target. There is no ongoing threat to the general public from this incident.

DPD are also working with the Surrey RCMP who have recovered a burned vehicle in the Bridgeview area that is suspected of being related to the shooting.

Police advise that there will be traffic disruptions in the residential area of 92A Avenue and 117th Street, with the intersection closed due to the investigation. The public is asked to avoid the area as passage through is blocked for the next few hours.
