Brandon James Peters has received his sentence for a dangerous driving incident this past summer.

A Prince George man has received his sentence stemming from a dangerous driving incident this past summer.

At the time of the incident, Prince George RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Craig Douglass said police responded to a vehicle collision and disturbance on Highway 97 at Houghtaling Road on June 30 just before noon.

A witness reported a car had t-boned a full-sized pick-up truck and continued to push it across three lanes of the highway and over the curb. The two drivers then engaged in a physical fight.

When police attended the scene, the driver of the car was attempting to walk away from the scene but was arrested by Mounties.

"Evidence and witness accounts indicate that the driver of the vehicle had deliberately crashed into the pick-up and pushed it off the highway and up onto a curb," Douglass said in an earlier release.

"The truck was occupied by an adult male driver and an adult female passenger. A number of vehicles traveling on the highway at the time had to abruptly brake to avoid being apart of the incident."

Prince George RCMP Cst. Jennifer Cooper said this morning (Dec. 28) that Brandon James Peters pled guilty on Dec. 18 to Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

He was given a conditional sentence of six months with 18 months probation, a victim surcharge of $200 and a ban on driving for one year.

Police say drugs and alcohol were not believed to be involved in the incident.
