South Delta realtors are bringing back an event that’s been cancelled the last three years because of COVID19.

The South Delta Realtor’s Toy Drive takes place Thursday (Dec. 8) from noon to 3 p.m. in the new Cascades Casino Delta.

Realtors have booked the Match Eatery and Public House and will be bringing unwrapped, new toys that will be donated to Deltassist Family and Community Services Society.

Remax City Realty, Sutton Group Seafair Realty, Royal Lepage Regency Realty and The Firm Real Estate Services are the participating realtors in the event.

Proceeds from ticket sales will also be given to the food bank.

“We did this every year. It was actually a bigger event pre-COVID. So this is kind of the first kick at it, try to get it going again,” said Richard Lowe.

It’s hoped the new venue will get people excited to start giving back again after the disruption caused by the pandemic.

“This is one of the things we used to do every year. We feel bad because we used to collect a lot for these charities and it just hasn’t happened.”
