Virtual Zoom and some in-person events are on tap this weekend as the Tsawwassen Sun Festival returns.

Held over the BC Day long weekend, the festival was put on hold last year due to COVID-19.

The festival will have a different look this year, but has something for everyone, which includes in-person and online events.

The long weekend starts off with Chef Klaus preparing a scrumptious meal prepared on a barbecue. Grab ingredients, follow along and get great tips from a certified chef.

You can watch this amazing meal creation on Thursday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m. in this free event on Zoom.

Delta’s Got Talent is back.

Want to showcase your talent? Calling all teens, ages 13 to 19, from singers, to dancers to magic tricks; show off your talent. Upload your video to Facebook starting July 26. Voting will be done by visitors to the page, so make sure to tell your friends.

The winner will be announced Aug. 2 and will walk away with a $500 prize.

A fun evening for the older crowd, try Bingo at the Rose and Crown Pub on Saturday, July 31 starting at 7 p.m. There are prizes to be won. If you don’t want to leave home, you can play online by logging into Zoom. Get your card now by checking out the festival’s website at: www.sunfestival.ca.

If you are looking for family fun for an afternoon, try in-person Bingo on Sunday, Aug. 1 starting at 1 p.m. at the South Delta Rec Centre.

Great prizes include: Four Winds gift baskets, Tsawwassen Springs’ golf package, a special edition print from Gary Nay, gift cards from local merchants and much more.

Play a game or two and have a piece of pie courtesy of Thrifty Foods.

Spend your Sunday evening under the stars in the comfort and privacy of your own vehicle with an old fashion drive-in movie sponsored in part by Fortis BC.

In the Tsawwassen Mills parking lot, Toy Story 4 will be screened. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. Only 50 tickets available, so grab yours as they go on sale today (Monday, July 26).

Welcome back the classic car show, only this year the cars will come to you.

Proud owners will showcase their classic car with a drive-by on Monday, Aug. 2 to close the festival in style. The route will start in Ladner at 10 a.m. and make their way to the streets of Tsawwassen.
