Delta stood at 95 per cent of residents 12-years-old and up having had a first dose of vaccine, while 93 per cent had a second dose.

Delta continues to see its number of new COVID-19 cases drop.

According to the BC Centre for Disease Control’s (BCCDC) latest community map of cases, covering the period Nov. 21 to 27, Delta had just 14 cases. It’s the lowest in the Fraser Health region.

The map also indicates Richmond had 35 cases, Surrey had 151, Langley had 74 and Abbotsford had 144 cases.

As far as the vaccination rate, as of Nov. 30, Delta stood at 95 per cent of residents 12-years-old and up having had a first dose of vaccine, while 93 per cent had a second shot and 10 per cent have had a third booster dose.

When it comes to schools issuing exposure notices, as of Thursday, three Delta schools were on Fraser Health’s list of schools that had recent exposures.

Those schools include Pinewood Elementary (Nov. 22, 23, 24, 25), Hellings Elementary (Nov. 23, 24, 25, 26) and North Delta Secondary (Nov. 22, 23).

The school district this week issued an information bulletin to parents on COVID vaccine for children from the BCCDC.

The bulletin notes the COVID-19 vaccine can be given at the same time as other childhood vaccinations, including the flu shot.
