Thousands attending Surrey's Miri Piri parade (PHOTOS)

Miri Piri is an observance practiced by Sikhs since the 17th Century.

The Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara Society is holding its annual Miri Piri event today (Sunday, July 31) to celebrate the temporal and spiritual components of life.

The event is seeing thousands of devotees in attendance and includes a morning parade, which is working its way up and down a section of the Surrey-Delta border on Scott Road and through several areas in Surrey.

The parade began at the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara temple.

 

Miri Piri is an observance practiced by Sikhs since the 17th Century.

The temporal power and spiritual authority was started by the sixth Guru of Sikhism.
