7-Eleven Canada is advising Delta residents of a 7-Eleven employee who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month.
In a media release sent to the Optimist on Wednesday morning, 7-Eleven Canada says customers who visited the 7-Eleven at 1565 56th Street in Tsawwassen between Oct. 15 and 17 should monitor their symptoms. The store has been closed for cleaning and sanitizing with plans to re-open on Thursday, with staff who did not work with the affected employee.
Store staff who worked with the affected individual were asked to self-isolate for 14 days with pay.
“7-Eleven Canada has taken steps to prioritize the health of our customers and employees across our 636 stores in Canada,” said the news release. “We have enhanced our standards and procedures for hygiene, handwashing, sanitation, food handling and preparation in stores, and increased the frequency of cleaning high-touch surfaces. We have installed sneeze guards at sales counters and visual floor markers in checkout lines to reinforce social distancing, as well as, limited customer traffic in stores.”
