Roadway widening and new LED ornamental street lighting are among the improvements planned.

The City of Delta has issued a request for proposals for a consultant to come up with the design and provide construction services for roadway and utility improvements along 7A Avenue between 52 Street and 53 Street in Tsawwassen.

Located adjacent to South Delta Secondary and Dennison Park, the roadway is slated to undergo a series of improvements including widening, sidewalk improvements, lighting upgrades, one rain garden, roadway rehabilitation and drainage improvements.

Public consultation with the local residents will be part of the project.

The preliminary design component is to be completed no later than Jan. 31, 2022, while public consultation drawings are to be completed by the end of the following month in preparation for a public meeting next spring.

Construction is included in Delta’s five-year plan, but the time of construction is yet to be confirmed, according to the city.
