Many familiar faces will return to their seats on Delta council and the Delta school board after Saturday's election. Lois Jackson won her fifth term as mayor while incumbent councillors Ian Paton, Bruce McDonald, Scott Hamilton and Robert Campbell were also victorious. Jeannie Kanakos returns to council after a three-year absence while the only newcomer is Sylvia Bishop. The Optimist asked:
Christy Thompson Not overly surprising, really. Pretty happy with most of it. I'm hopeful that they do what they said they're going to do. Having young kids, it's pretty important to me that some of those things happen.

It's sort of status quo. It's what I expected.

I'm disappointed [about] the mayoral outcome because people underneath her split the vote. If you equaled the three, I think there were more people against her than there was with her.
