Jalen and Tyson Philpot were both selected in Tuesday night's CFL draft.

Jalen and Tyson Philpot’s decorated football careers will continue in different cities and they don’t mind a bit.

The dynamic 21-year-old twin receivers from North Delta were among the early selections in Tuesday’s CFL Draft following prolific collegiate careers at the University of Calgary.

Jalen was selected fifth overall by the Calgary Stampeders and Tyson followed four picks later in the first round when he was scooped up by the Montreal Alouettes.

In 2021, Jalen recorded 35 receptions for 715 yards and three touchdowns in just six games for the Dinos. His efforts earned him a USports First Team All-Canadian selection for the second straight year. In three seasons with the Dinos, he had 113 catches for 1,889 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Now he gets to continue his career at McMahon Stadium where the Stampeders also play their home games.

Last season, Tyson had 41 receptions for 746 yards and a nation best nine touchdowns to soar up the final draft rankings. The performance also earned him USports First Team All-Canadian honours as well as Canada West Player of the Year.

The brothers were so dominant, the next nearest player in reception yards in Canada West play was Saskatchewan’s Daniel Perry at 443 yards.

Jalen and Tyson are the sons of former B.C. Lions star running back Cory Philpot who helped B.C. win a Grey Cup back in 1994.

Coached by their father, they came up through North Delta Minor Football before moving onto the high school level at Seaquam where they led the Seahawks to the B.C. AA Championship in 2016.
